THE INVISIBLE RETURN
MFA Thesis ~ Young Adult Fantasy Novel; Completed; Seeking literary representation
In the peaceful yet racially unjust world of Exiadix, the Dimension of Time, sixteen-year-old Manipulators Fae Mukherjee and Achaius Finehardt team up after both Fae’s powers and her sister, Tiya, go missing. Their journey becomes much more complicated and dangerous when a series of unexplained, tragic incidents occur—events which threaten both Fae's family and her society.
The time aspects and multiple POVs of The Last Magician series by Lisa Maxwell meets the strong sister relationship of Divided Fire by Jennifer San Filippo, but with the threads of race/racism running throughout in this high fantasy adventure. The narrative flits between the POVs of Fae, Tiya, and the antagonist, Elymas, and plays with time and memory.
PROCESS
TV Pilot; Completed (with series bible)
A one-hour psychological drama series, PROCESS centers on 20-year-old Laila Saha and her journey in a short-term adult inpatient psychiatric unit. There she must navigate new relationships with other patients and hospital staff, work through her old, toxic ones with her dysfunctional family, and most of all, come to terms with why she was admitted in the first place.

Twenty-six-year-old Indian Canadian Supriya Basu discovers two well-kept family secrets that change her life. After reading her grandfather's diary, Supriya must come to terms with the family secrets, with what was never said—with what was always hidden—with what, in a way, she has both discovered and lost. Alternating between Supriya's third-person POV in present-day Vancouver and her grandfather's first-person POV in 1990s Mumbai (via his diary entries), a narrative of family, memory, secrets, and intergenerational trauma emerges.
ON THE TRACKS

Largely set on the train in present-day Greater Vancouver, ON THE TRACKS follows Meena and her mom, Radhika, who are on their way for a fun day in Gastown to celebrate Meena's university graduation. When Radhika receives a call from Mumbai, the trajectory of their journey takes a sharp turn. Meena and Radhika each grapple with this devastating news in their own ways, and eventually, together. ON THE TRACKS explores loss and grief, memory, time, and hope, while experimenting with sound and music.
SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN

SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN depicts the immigrant experience of the Chattopadhyays, a Bengali-Indian family, in contemporary America. Told from their third-person perspectives and spanning sixteen years, a narrative of intergenerational trauma emerges. Themes of identity, language, racism, bullying, physical and mental illness, acculturation, the American Dream, and poverty are also explored, all in the context of the immigrant experience.
